Role overview

Reddit’s Ads Design and Research team shapes advertising experiences across advertiser tools, consumer ads, measurement and connecting systems. This Principal UX Engineer role combines product design, frontend engineering, prototyping and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Define and lead UX Engineering strategy across multiple Reddit Ads areas.
Build functional prototypes, workflow tools, agents and production-adjacent experiences.
Connect design intent to real systems and data and help teams reach engineering-ready direction.
Partner with Design, Research, Product, Engineering and Data Science while remaining hands-on.
Establish UX Engineering practices and reusable patterns for the Ads Design team.
Evaluate ideas, test assumptions and communicate technical and product tradeoffs.

Qualifications

Principal-level experience in UX engineering, frontend engineering, design systems or product prototyping.
Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend skills with product-quality implementation.
Ability to work across design and engineering and make complex ideas tangible quickly.
Experience with prototypes, workflow tools, agents, APIs and production-adjacent systems.
Strategic communication, technical leadership and a strong user-centred product mindset.
