Role overview

The senior opening leads GitOps and infrastructure-as-code practices in Canonical information systems. It treats internal services as products and retains operational responsibility for networks, cloud resources and core systems.

Responsibilities

Lead automation and GitOps design while aligning technical decisions with the information-systems architecture.
Develop reusable operations across private and public clouds and improve resilience of container services.
Own urgent escalations and investigate capacity, performance and incidents using observability tools.
Mentor colleagues and coordinate with globally distributed engineering and support teams.

Qualifications

Substantial Python engineering and Linux operations, including networking, storage and enterprise servers.
Practical infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes or similar orchestration, and deployment by code.
A product-oriented approach to internal services and clear communication in English.
A computer science or related engineering degree and experience working in distributed teams.
