Role overview

Canonical operates private clouds, Kubernetes clusters and application platforms for customers. This globally remote SRE role treats operations as a software engineering problem, using metrics and automation from networking and storage through containers and applications.

Responsibilities

Write Python automation for infrastructure and apply DevSecOps practices across the stack.
Architect, deploy and operate OpenStack, Kubernetes and software-defined storage for customer services.
Monitor and troubleshoot mission-critical systems, drive upgrades and improve reliability through code and metrics.
Collaborate across operations and engineering teams and attend international company events twice yearly.

Qualifications

Strong Python software development and hands-on Linux operations, including networking and storage.
Ability to work in a demanding environment supporting customer services that must remain available.
A software engineering or computer science degree, collaborative communication and accountability.
OpenStack, Kubernetes and public or private cloud operations are useful additional experience.
