Role overview

This role combines Linux systems expertise, GitLab and CI/CD knowledge, proactive customer support and deep troubleshooting. The engineer partners with Product, Development, Infrastructure, Customer Success and Sales to resolve defects, prevent incidents and influence the roadmap.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to major GitLab customers and keep their environments stable and performant.
Investigate critical, complex issues using logs, Zendesk, Linux utilities such as strace and video or email communication.
Build proactive relationships with customer stakeholders and help prioritise technical blockers.
Advise on GitLab and CI/CD implementations and collaborate with product and engineering teams on fixes.
Create reusable documentation and support content and share knowledge through pairing and hiring activities.

Qualifications

Experience managing complex customer-facing support cases from triage and reproduction through escalation and resolution.
Advanced troubleshooting across applications, infrastructure and integrations.
Strong Linux systems administration, performance analysis and low-level debugging skills.
Practical GitLab and CI/CD experience and ability to explain technical impact to customers.
Clear communication, ownership and ability to work across distributed teams.
