Role overview

The senior Juju position expands on Canonical’s Go-based cloud automation work. It owns feature delivery and support in a concurrent distributed system and includes coaching less-experienced engineers. The source limits the remote role to EMEA.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, release and ongoing support of Juju features used for large-scale software operations.
Investigate defects and work with upstream communities and a distributed engineering team.
Coach junior colleagues and help maintain code quality, tests and constructive technical collaboration.
Work from home and travel for company or community events for two to four weeks a year.

Qualifications

Proven professional delivery in Go and hands-on work with highly concurrent distributed systems.
Strong English communication, agile development experience and ability to mentor engineers.
Useful experience includes Linux, Docker or LXD or Kubernetes, networking, packaging and SQL or NoSQL databases.
Background in C, C++ or Rust and a strong focus on software quality are additional advantages.
