Role overview

Responsibilities

Design, write and test maintainable Python software for the assigned Ubuntu product or service.
Diagnose defects and deliver fixes with supporting tests and clear technical documentation.
Collaborate with a distributed team and open-source communities, including technical leadership where appropriate.
Work from home and attend international company events twice yearly.

Qualifications

Experience producing modern, well-structured Python and working with Linux; familiarity with Debian or Ubuntu is preferred.
A computer science or STEM degree, or a compelling alternative path, plus strong written and spoken English.
Ability to work independently, deliver on schedule and consider performance, quality and presentation.
Useful extras include containers, Go or Rust, APIs, SQL or NoSQL, cloud platforms, packaging, testing and security.
