Role overview

Grafana’s databases team maintains Loki for logs alongside Mimir, Tempo and Pyroscope for other telemetry. These open-source systems also power Grafana Cloud and on-premises offerings. The role covers reliability, performance and feature delivery in a remote engineering team. The posting accepts candidates located in Australia or Singapore.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain critical Loki and cloud database services.
Own service reliability, performance and availability, including participation in on-call rotations.
Carry projects from requirements and design through release and operation.
Use production feedback to improve features and contribute to the team roadmap.
Mentor engineers, review designs and take part in open-source collaboration.

Qualifications

Experience shipping robust production software in Go or another language such as Python, C, C++ or Rust.
Cloud software or systems-engineering experience and the ability to break complex work into short iterations.
Customer focus, initiative and clear communication in a fully remote team.
Willingness to operate the services you build and participate in on-call.
Database, storage, query-engine, Kubernetes or observability experience is useful, but presented as additional experience.
