Role overview

Grafana’s databases group develops Loki for logs alongside Mimir, Tempo and Pyroscope. This role works on the distributed query side of a multi-tenant cloud service written largely in Go and running on Kubernetes across major cloud providers. Each requisition specifies its remote hiring country.

Responsibilities

Build, release and improve features in distributed database services, then observe how customers use them.
Own critical production systems, including their availability, performance and reliability.
Take projects from design through operation and participate in an on-call rotation.
Contribute to open-source engineering, design reviews and collaboration across the database team.

Qualifications

Strong programming in Go or a transferable language such as Python, C, C++ or Rust.
Experience delivering maintainable, high-performance software from requirements to production.
Cloud software or systems-engineering experience, plus independent communication in a remote team.
Kubernetes, Docker, Grafana, Prometheus, distributed services and operational on-call practice are beneficial.
