Role overview

Oyster helps companies hire and manage people internationally. This role sits with the team responsible for internal APIs, connected architecture and identity systems.

Responsibilities

Gather workflow requirements from internal teams and deliver scoped API improvements from design to release.
Implement and test Rails APIs with careful authentication, authorization and sensitive-data handling.
Troubleshoot API failures, add regression coverage and document decisions for an asynchronous team.

Qualifications

At least three years of professional Ruby development and hands-on Ruby on Rails API work.
Automated testing, continuous integration, secure coding and effective Git collaboration.
Ability to verify AI-generated code independently; React, TypeScript, IAM or MCP exposure is useful.
