Role overview

Reddit is hiring senior staff machine-learning leaders to improve high-scale advertising ranking and feed relevance. The roles combine deep modelling expertise with GenAI, experimentation and technical direction across teams.

Responsibilities

Set technical direction for relevance, ranking and machine-learning systems with company-wide impact.
Design and improve models, features, evaluation and experimentation for ads ranking or feed recommendations.
Use agentic AI and modern AI-assisted development workflows to improve modelling quality and engineering velocity.
Partner with product, engineering and management on goals, planning, risk reduction and delivery.
Mentor senior and staff engineers and strengthen engineering culture.
Monitor model quality and production performance and translate research into reliable user-facing systems.

Qualifications

Ten or more years of industry experience building relevance-driven or machine-learning systems.
Subject-matter expertise in recommendation, ranking, relevance or applied ML.
Experience leading large technical initiatives across multiple teams or organisations.
Strong modelling, experimentation, data and software-engineering fundamentals.
Ability to communicate strategy, mentor engineers and make decisions under ambiguity.
Experience with GenAI or agentic AI applied to modelling workflows is valuable.
