Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Ads Foundational Representations at Reddit

Role overview

Reddit’s Ads Foundational Representations team builds signals and representations for ads, posts, users and other entities. The team uses machine learning and data to capture semantic, contextual and behavioural information for Reddit Ads.

Responsibilities

• Build multimodal and content embeddings for organic posts, comments and subreddits, as well as promoted ads and products.
• Define contextual and behavioural relevance with Product and Data Science partners and build metrics for it.
• Develop knowledge-graph embeddings and representations for core Reddit entities.
• Train, evaluate and deploy models and data pipelines that improve advertising relevance and user understanding.
• Work with research, engineering and product partners to turn modelling results into reliable production systems.
• Monitor model quality, investigate regressions and iterate on features, metrics and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and deploying machine-learning or representation-learning systems.
• Practical knowledge of embeddings, multimodal modelling, recommendation, relevance or semantic search.
• Strong Python and data skills with experience in experimentation, evaluation and production pipelines.
• Ability to reason about large-scale content, user and advertising data and its privacy or quality constraints.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a distributed, cross-functional team.
• Interest in knowledge graphs, contextual signals, behavioural modelling or advertising systems.
