Role overview

Own the Next.js frontend and Node.js services of a high-traffic headless storefront serving Europe, Latin America and APAC, working directly with the client’s European engineering team.

Responsibilities

Build catalogue, product, cart and checkout experiences, choosing static, incremental, server or client rendering according to each page’s needs.
Design CDN, edge and browser caching and invalidation; maintain Node.js REST or GraphQL services, international pricing, languages and payment integrations.
Measure and improve regional performance, support analytics and A/B testing, automated tests, CI/CD, monitoring and rollback; mentor other engineers.

Qualifications

At least five years building production web applications at scale, with strong TypeScript, React, Next.js and browser fundamentals.
Backend Node.js and REST or GraphQL experience, plus understanding of rendering, caching, CDN or edge deployment and AWS operations.
Automated testing and CI/CD experience, good English for daily work with European engineers and willingness to learn the Shopify ecosystem.
