Role overview

Reddit’s Compliance Engineering team adapts the platform to evolving privacy, security and regulatory requirements. The team builds trusted, compliant experiences and works across domains and technology stacks.

Responsibilities

Design and build platform capabilities that meet changing privacy, security and regulatory requirements.
Partner with product, design and engineering teams to deliver compliant experiences for millions of users.
Own product areas end to end, from technical design and coding through testing, experimentation, analysis and launch.
Lead cross-functional initiatives critical to Reddit’s business and platform integrity.
Influence technical and product strategy in a new product space.
Improve engineering workflows, set standards and mentor other engineers.

Qualifications

At least five years of backend-development experience across databases, networking and efficient computing.
Experience with Go, Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, Thrift or GraphQL and modern backend systems.
Ability to work in ambiguous problem spaces and learn across technology stacks.
Strong understanding of privacy, security, compliance or platform-integrity concerns.
Experience owning products from design through launch and collaborating across functions.
