Responsibilities

  • Develop P2P networking and storage primitives in Node.js.
  • Improve protocol latency and throughput on real networks.
  • Implement or refine binary protocols, serialisation and secure peer communication.
  • Profile and test systems that must operate over unreliable connections.

Qualifications

  • P2P protocols such as Kademlia, BitTorrent, libp2p or Hypercore and advanced JavaScript networking code.
  • Strong UDP, TCP/IP and NAT traversal knowledge, including performance profiling.
  • Experience with cryptographic primitives and custom binary formats.
  • Five or more years in production P2P or distributed systems, V8, libuv, native add-ons and open-source networking work are preferred.
