Role overview

Canonical's alliances engineering team works with hardware manufacturers, global systems integrators and cloud partners. The architect helps these organisations design customer solutions using Ubuntu, Kubernetes, OpenStack and other open-source technologies. This is a home-based worldwide role with global travel of up to 30% of working time.

Responsibilities

Design public- and private-cloud architectures using Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph or Spark.
Integrate open-source services such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra and NGINX into partner solutions.
Create and publish joint reference architectures and validate them technically with partners.
Run partner onboarding workshops, demonstrations and technical presentations.
Understand partner environments and help shape solutions built on Canonical products.

Qualifications

Extensive Linux, Kubernetes, Ceph and automation experience, plus public- or private-cloud solution design.
Working understanding of Python and Bash and strong troubleshooting skills.
Fluent English writing and speaking, with presentation and customer-facing communication skills.
Technical degree or equivalent experience, reliable follow-through and ability to manage multiple engagements.
Interest in LXD, Juju and Snaps, and ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
