Role overview

This staff engineer leads architecture of the AI Gateway model router, MCP gateway and control plane as usage grows.

Responsibilities

Own difficult systems for model selection, failover, cost routing, policy enforcement and secure credential storage.
Define evaluation, replay, backtesting and observability infrastructure; mentor engineers and shape roadmap decisions.

Qualifications

At least eight years of backend engineering and deep distributed-systems, cloud infrastructure and API-design expertise.
Experience building secure high-throughput gateways or policy services and making architecture decisions at production scale.
