Reddit’s Ads Data Science team uses robust data foundations, metrics, experimentation and statistical methods to improve advertiser value. This Staff Data Scientist role owns high-impact advertising problems across measurement, campaign and creative management, growth, retention and monetisation.

Responsibilities

Own a strategic advertising problem from framing and data exploration through analysis, experimentation and recommendation.
Build metrics, analytical foundations and models that explain campaign performance and advertiser outcomes.
Design and evaluate experiments and causal or statistical methods for product and monetisation decisions.
Partner with product, engineering, sales and business stakeholders to turn insights into shipped improvements.
Communicate findings clearly to technical and executive audiences and influence roadmap priorities.
Raise the team’s data-science standards through mentorship, reusable methods and rigorous measurement.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in data science, experimentation, statistical modelling or applied machine learning.
Strong SQL and Python or equivalent analytical programming skills.
Experience with advertising, marketplaces, growth, retention, measurement or monetisation analytics.
Ability to frame ambiguous problems, define success metrics and make recommendations from imperfect data.
Strong understanding of experimental design, causal inference, forecasting or predictive modelling.
Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration and technical leadership skills.
