Role overview

Reddit’s Ads Data Science team is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to apply advanced quantitative methods across its advertising platform. The role shapes foundational science for measurement, prediction and optimisation of the Ads marketplace.

Responsibilities

Define and implement foundational data-science solutions using statistics, econometrics, machine learning and related quantitative methods.
Optimise advertising marketplace measurement, prediction and decision systems.
Partner with Analytics Engineering to improve data systems for analysis and modelling at scale.
Work with Product, Engineering and business leaders to establish long-term measurement and optimisation vision.
Champion scientific rigor, causal inference and economic modelling in product decisions.
Mentor data scientists and provide technical thought leadership across the organisation.

Qualifications

Extensive experience applying data science, statistics, econometrics, machine learning or quantitative methods to complex products.
Strong understanding of causal inference, experimentation, economic modelling and marketplace measurement.
Experience partnering with engineering teams on production data systems and scalable analysis.
Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into rigorous models, metrics and decisions.
Strategic communication and leadership skills with experience mentoring senior practitioners.
