Role overview

Reddit’s Ads organisation builds systems for advertiser products, ad safety, creative management, campaign measurement and high-scale user experiences. This senior software-engineering role works on backend services and distributed infrastructure that powers the advertising ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Design and implement microservices and APIs for advertiser-facing products.
Build distributed systems that select and deliver relevant ads at the right time.
Develop backends for interactive ad experiences such as polls and games.
Build real-time, data-intensive systems that measure campaign performance.
Collaborate with product managers, platform engineers and data teams on new Ads products.
Operate and improve infrastructure using observability, testing and reliable deployment practices.

Qualifications

Strong backend software-engineering experience with production distributed systems.
Experience with Go, Python or Scala and frameworks or systems such as Spark, Kafka or Thrift.
Familiarity with Postgres, BigQuery, Redis or Druid and Kubernetes, Argo or Docker.
Ability to design APIs, reason about scale and reliability, and work with data-intensive services.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional, distributed environment.
Interest in advertising safety, campaign measurement, creative tools or interactive consumer experiences.
