Role overview

The Real User Monitoring initiative captures browser and mobile sessions, events, traces and logs so customers can inspect user experience and performance in Grafana Cloud. This role spans frontend experience and high-volume backend data systems, with close ties to OpenTelemetry and SDK teams.

Responsibilities

Build fullstack RUM features across user interfaces, backend services, APIs and storage.
Design ingestion, indexing and queries for high-volume, high-cardinality telemetry in analytical or columnar databases.
Create responsive visualisations and low-latency APIs for sessions, traces and events.
Coordinate with browser and mobile SDK teams on data quality and schema changes.
Own design, deployment, testing, observability and improvement of features with product and engineering partners.

Qualifications

At least five years of fullstack engineering with strong frontend fundamentals, according to the posting.
TypeScript and React frontend experience; Go is preferred for backend work.
Production distributed-systems experience and understanding of high-throughput telemetry, data modelling and query optimisation.
Experience with APIs, data-heavy interfaces, cloud-native services and observability concepts.
Clear communication, independent delivery and customer focus in a remote team; browser or mobile instrumentation is useful additional experience.
