Role overview

This staff SRE role supports Grafana Cloud customers with demanding service commitments. The team works with product squads on distributed databases delivered through AWS, GCP and Azure, and is responsible for production reliability, incidents and automation. Each posting states a remote hiring country.

Responsibilities

Own production reliability for complex, high-SLA customers and define per-tenant service-level objectives.
Investigate error-budget burn, improve alerts and build automation that removes repeated operational work.
Serve on call, lead incident response and post-incident reviews, and communicate with affected customers.
Partner with database engineering squads on scalable designs, code reviews and operability.
Improve monitoring, self-healing and fault-tolerant patterns while mentoring colleagues in SRE practice.

Qualifications

At least eight years in engineering, including four or more in SRE, customer reliability or production engineering.
Strong Kubernetes experience on AWS, GCP or Azure and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Helm, Terraform or Jsonnet.
Experience operating multi-tenant systems, defining SLOs, leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
Programming in Go, Python, Java or a similar language, plus Linux internals, networking and cloud storage.
Calm, blame-free incident response, post-incident writing and an ability to reason about scaling and failure modes.
