Role overview

GitLab seeks a Senior Security Risk Engineer to identify, quantify and track security risk across vendor assessments, technical findings and internal controls.

Responsibilities

Maintain a risk register and quarterly reports that make remediation progress visible to leadership.
Translate vulnerabilities and control gaps into measurable business risks and coordinate corrective work with engineering, IT, product and legal teams.
Automate repetitive risk and third-party assessment work with scripting and AI-enabled tools; support AI risk assessments.

Qualifications

Experience in security risk management and established frameworks such as NIST or ISO 31000.
Ability to turn technical findings into clear risk statements and treatment plans.
