Role overview

Extreme Networks describes itself as a global provider of cloud-driven networking solutions serving more than 50,000 customers. The Systems Engineer provides product and technology consulting for account opportunities and acts as a technical partner for customers, prospects and channel partners.

The role is remote and includes domestic or international travel for customer and partner work.

Responsibilities

• Provide technology and product consulting and technical sales support for account opportunities.
• Deliver high-level and detailed technical presentations to customers, prospects and channel partners.
• Support requests for information and proposals, organise and lead proof-of-concept activities, and design solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Participate as a specialist on virtual teams and contribute to wider team activities.
• Work with customer project teams on solution design, PoC laboratories and success criteria, and support evaluations, demonstrations and detailed design requirements.

Qualifications

• Excellent presentation skills and a successful pre-sales engineering track record in a similar industry and territory role.
• Sound knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, IPv4 and IPv6 routing, overlay networking, VPNs, Wi-Fi design and network security principles.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with customers and partners, act as a customer advocate and work persistently through complex opportunities.
• Ability to contribute to customer project teams, technical training and hands-on laboratory work.
• Experience with major accounts and closing deals is required; industry or Extreme Networks certifications are advantageous.
• Cloud networking platforms, virtualisation, network management, SD-WAN, automation scripting and APIs are advantageous.
