Role overview

Horizon3 develops NodeZero, a container-based autonomous penetration-testing platform. This hands-on staff engineering role sets technical direction and writes production code for the Data Platform team. The posting lists remote work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Set schema, data-modeling, indexing and query-contract standards across teams.
Analyze slow queries, improve execution plans and detect performance regressions.
Own replication, failover, backup validation, capacity planning and database incidents.
Design zero-downtime migrations and review application teams’ data access patterns.

Qualifications

Eight or more years in software engineering with deep database specialization.
Expert PostgreSQL query tuning, replication, vacuum and locking; indexing, partitioning and connection pooling.
Graph databases, time-series or columnar stores, cloud or Kubernetes operation, Go or Python and technical leadership.
