Reddit’s Safety and Moderation organization builds detection, automation and moderation tools. This Staff role shapes backend architecture and technical direction for proactive safety systems.

Responsibilities

Work across product, data science and operations to identify safety problems and develop detection and enforcement capabilities.
Lead technical design, implementation, testing, experimentation and launch; review designs and code, define engineering standards and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

Requires at least eight years of software development in a general-purpose language such as Go, Python, Rust or Ruby, plus a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
