Role overview
Grafana’s Alerting team develops alert management for the open-source product and Grafana Cloud. The backend work includes scaling Prometheus-based alert ingestion, delivery and evaluation for critical systems. These postings name specific European remote locations.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and operate distributed systems that ingest, evaluate and deliver alerts at scale.
- Make alert setup and delivery consistent across Grafana-managed and Prometheus-based alerts.
- Own critical service performance, availability and on-call response.
- Take features from concept to production, learn from customer use and improve the product.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to design discussions and participate in open-source work.
Qualifications
- Strong software engineering in Go or a transferable language such as Python, Java, C++ or Rust.
- Experience delivering maintainable, performant cloud or systems software independently.
- Customer focus, sound engineering tradeoffs and the ability to break ambiguous problems into short iterations.
- Clear communication and collaboration within a fully remote engineering team.
