Role overview

Grafana’s Mobile Observability team builds lightweight SDKs that connect mobile traces, metrics, logs, crashes and user sessions to backend telemetry. Responsibilities

Develop iOS instrumentation libraries in Swift and Objective-C with attention to stability, startup time and resource use.
Ship session tracking, crash reporting, sampling, automatic context propagation and OpenTelemetry integrations.
Own projects from design through incremental release, feedback and revision.
Maintain tests, continuous integration, documentation and backward-compatible SDK upgrades.
Work with backend, frontend and product teams, review open-source contributions and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

Strong iOS engineering experience with Swift or Objective-C; Android experience is optional.
Experience building developer-facing mobile SDKs, libraries or platform code used outside the team.
Ability to optimise performance-sensitive mobile code, including memory and network use.
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or comparable telemetry libraries and clear communication in a remote team.
Open-source observability work, React Native or Flutter bindings, mobile privacy and security, crash aggregation or session replay are useful extras.
