Responsibilities

Lead design and implementation of automated kernel build control.
Investigate difficult kbuild, kconfig and make problems and propose fixes for upstream adoption.
Coordinate deployment of build automation with other Canonical engineering teams.
Improve CI/CD processes and tooling around kernel packaging and delivery.

Qualifications

Strong Python programming and demonstrated work configuring or patching Linux kernels, including kconfig and Git.
Good written and spoken English; C programming is highly regarded.
Experience with Yocto, Buildroot or similar Linux distribution tools.
Useful extras include Go or JavaScript, CLI tools, REST APIs, process automation and Ubuntu/Debian/Snap packaging.
