Role overview

The field engineering team helps enterprises adopt Linux, private and public clouds, and open-source applications. Engineers combine solution architecture with hands-on deployment, testing and transfer to support or managed-services teams. Responsibilities

Design customer cloud infrastructure using OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, Hadoop or Spark, deployed on premises or on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
Work across the Linux stack, including the kernel, networking, storage and applications.
Write Python and deliver open-source code for customer solutions.
Present technical choices, train customers and hand completed solutions to support teams.
Share expertise with colleagues and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science or equivalent software-engineering experience.
Practical Linux and networking knowledge plus familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenStack and major cloud platforms.
Intermediate to advanced Python programming.
Strong English communication, presentation and customer interaction skills.
Organised follow-through, willingness to learn and ability to travel internationally; another language is optional.
