Role overview

The engineer takes backend features from problem definition through release and production follow-up, collaborating with product, frontend, infrastructure and security teams in an asynchronous remote environment.

Responsibilities

Design, implement and test backend features, APIs, background jobs and integrations in Ruby/Rails, Go or another suitable language.
Work with data models, migrations, indexes and query behavior; make code secure, observable and maintainable.
Improve unit, integration, contract and end-to-end coverage, review code, investigate failures and contribute to operational support where needed.
Use AI coding tools while checking their output and limits.

Qualifications

Production backend engineering experience with APIs, databases, testing, debugging and performance work.
Ability to own features independently, communicate clearly in writing and collaborate remotely.
Practical experience reviewing and correcting AI-generated code; Ruby/Rails or Go experience is useful, and the employer also values adaptability.
