Role overview

Reddit’s Identity and Access Management team builds mission-critical, highly performant and scalable systems for user identity, authentication and authorization across millions of users and backend services.

Responsibilities

Design, build and ship backend services for consumer IAM and Reddit’s engineering organisation.
Improve the performance, scalability and quality of IAM architecture and services.
Work with product management, security, client engineering and backend teams on the IAM vision and roadmap.
Select, scope and execute high-leverage projects aligned with Reddit’s goals.
Collaborate across engineering and improve technical and non-technical capabilities through continuous learning.

Qualifications

At least three years designing and developing distributed backend systems.
Experience with identity, authentication, authorization or other security-sensitive backend services.
Strong programming, API, data and distributed-systems fundamentals.
Ability to reason about reliability, performance, privacy and secure access at large scale.
Clear communication and effective collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
